Lavender May & Olivia Killjoy – A Dual Portrait of Scenic Artistry

In the heart of Old Montreal, where the city’s historic textures meet the glow of stage-lit dreams, we collaborated with burlesque artist Lavender May and Olivia Killjoy, a member of Les Amuses Girls, for an artistic portrait session celebrating the theatricality and elegance of their craft. With Sophie Parrot on makeup, each look was designed to enhance the bold personas these performers embody. The session played with contrasts—between movement and stillness, shadow and light, spectacle and intimacy. Against the cobblestone streets and timeworn facades, Lavender May’s commanding presence and Olivia Killjoy’s electric energy came to life through a series of images that blurred the line between performance and identity. More than a portrait session, this project was an exploration of self-expression, femininity, and the raw confidence that defines burlesque. Every frame captured not just the aesthetic details—the intricate makeup, the careful styling—but the essence of two artists who transform the stage into a space of empowerment and reinvention.
