“Beyond the images, every project has a story to tell. In this first article, we take a closer look at our collaboration with Blanchette Archidesign, a rapidly growing architectural firm in Montreal. From their first team portrait to a dynamic autumn shoot, we explore how photography has accompanied their evolution and strengthened their brand identity.”

Understanding the Project

Blanchette Archidesign is a growing architectural firm in Montreal, focused on a Nordic-inspired, minimalist, and accessible approach to design. Their goal is not only to create innovative spaces but also to reconnect with a lost architectural heritage. Since their early days, they have entrusted us with capturing the evolution of their team through corporate portraits and group photography.

For Blanchette, photography is more than a simple branding tool—it is a way to establish their presence in the industry and reflect the core values that drive their practice. As they continue to expand, having a strong visual identity that aligns with their mission is essential.

Creative Approach and Execution

We conducted two major group photography sessions for Blanchette, each representing a different phase in their development. The first session took place on a construction site, capturing the firm’s authenticity and simplicity in a raw, unfiltered setting. The second session, taken a year later, leveraged the warm tones of autumn to create a more dramatic and dynamic look. The contrast between these two series not only reflects their evolving aesthetic but also showcases their rapid growth—more team members, a stronger presence, and a more defined vision.

One of the technical challenges of this shoot was managing composition in an outdoor environment, particularly with the presence of fallen leaves. Any slight movement shifted the visual balance, requiring precise control. To ensure a seamless result, we used a multi-exposure technique, layering about twenty images to create a refined final composition. This meticulous process allowed us to maintain both the spontaneity of the team’s interactions and the overall cohesion of the scene.

Portrait Work and Brand Identity

Beyond the group sessions, we also captured professional portraits of Patrick, the firm’s principal architect and founder, along with Kevin, Vice-President and Managing Director. These portraits were designed to convey the firm’s identity—an image that remains simple and poised, yet confident and refined.

In corporate photography, the goal is not just to take pictures but to tell a visual story that aligns with the company’s values and positioning. For Blanchette, this meant creating images that reflect both their architectural philosophy and their team’s collaborative spirit. Every element, from composition to lighting, was carefully considered to reinforce their brand’s identity.

Final Delivery and Impact

Once the images were finalized, they were integrated into Blanchette Archidesign’s website, press materials, and professional communications. The consistency of their visual identity across platforms reinforces their reputation in the industry, positioning them as one of Montreal’s emerging architectural firms.

Watching a client grow and establish itself is always rewarding. Our collaboration with Blanchette has been ongoing since their early days, and seeing them evolve firsthand is a testament to their dedication and vision. We look forward to continuing to document their journey and capturing the next milestones in their story.
